AT THE BUZZER!...

It was a game of buzzer beaters. Like so many, I too enjoy the L.A. vs. L.A. showdown. Kobe Bryant might have had the most points, with 24 and 4 assists, but last night’s MVP honor went to the great and valuable Derek Fisher. D-Fish, who is known for his magnificent catching and shooting ability, went for the unexpected, simple, quiet layup at the buzzer to beat the Clippers 87 to 86. “I assumed most guys would play me to stop and shoot so I just wanted to try and leave a little hesitation in it,” Fisher said.
Shannon Brown, who continues to show us all what he did during the off-season, and I don’t mean hooking up with Monica, had 16 points and added his own buzzer beater from half court at the end of the third quarter, leaving the Lakers trailing 71 to 65 to start the fourth.
Even though the Lakers got the victory, the Clippers showed they are definitely going to be a team to be reckon with, in the years to come. No joke, they really have a great talent in Blake Griffin who had 16 points and 11 rebounds. I really hope he’s in the dunk contest this year. Eric Gordon scored 24 points and talked about the Clippers blowing a 12-point led in the third quarter. "Hopefully, it's a learning experience to us," Gordon said. "We lost basically on turnovers. In crunch time, we made a couple of bad plays and that is what gave them a chance." Well it’s a good thing the Lakers got the victory. Otherwise, this would have been their third loss on the road.
Finally, is it just me or does it seem like Head Coach Phil Jackson would rather meditate on the bench than call a time out? I’m just saying. The Lakers face the Bulls tomorrow who are doing well at home. Hopefully they can pull off another road win. Go Lakers!
